Ah yes, my first car was a Prelude, the version before this one. They're surprisingly powerful, agile and economical. They look good too! Its a very likeable car. Mine had the all digital cluster gauge, a la s2000. I miss that thing, could smoke a Mustang and still do 26mpg

That dash is fucking awesome. I wish more cars had something like that! Spreads across the whole width of the car

Honda should've killed off the 2-door Accord and kept the Prelude and CL.

I agree! Another friend of mine had one with that dash. Honda was ahead of its time with that decision

MountainCommand has one, and his is absolutely mint. My only complaint about the Prelude? Gearing. It was just not built for long highway runs over 65mph. 65mph is something well over 2000RPM, which is ridiculous.

Hell yeah! If only they added oil pressure and voltmeter gauges it would look so good spanning the whole way!

Is that a 2 ahead of the 46336 on the odometer? If so, that's an amazingly clean car for having a quarter of a million miles on it. I had a '97, they're super fun cars to drive. Very nice purchase for $1300.

All the preludes in my area growing up quickly got the F&F treatment. It was about 5 years ago at a stop light look over and see a car "Honda makes a car with Ford fusion headlights?!?" I had never seen a stock one. That interior is the 1% of the 1%.

ahhh yes he has an SH prelude. Handling on that version is incredible. ATTS is a pretty cool feature i wish i kinda had on mine. He did pretty well for 1300 if it all runs decently. Great candidate for a Type S swap. 220hp.

Just make sure he keeps tabs on his oil. H22 engines are most noted for their thirst of dino juice.

Lastly, give your buddy props on choosing the best color (from what i see its the premium white pearl, 1999-01 had that color). White preludes forever!

It would be cheap to even get a new motor at some point. My commuter is a 94 Accord, I wish I had one of those instead. I've thought about several cars that could replace my Accord if it ever dies. I have 154K on it, not a ton of miles for a 94'

2000rpm would be amazing..

70 is closer to 3.5 -4K Still getting about 32mp at 35-3800 rpms though... Gotta be that honda magic ;)

This is my current daily driver. 91 2.1 si. Beggers can't choose which transmission was picked so it is an automatic and I'm currently about $1000 into it. Odometer stopped at 119999.9 and who knows when it happened. It runs pretty well but still needs some work to resolve CEL issues.

Time to work out custom gearing and swap the trans. Shelf the original one just in case, and that would be awesome. Stock 1-3 with a lower ratio 4 and 5 would really help out significantly.

But even at that, if you're getting 32mpg at 3500, I'm still jealous. Wagon gets around 25-27 highway and around 14-19 city depending on the traffic. But for a V8, it's really not that bad.

How are things down there? You've missed all the snow up here...

Yeah, that's like no miles for a '94. 7k a year or thereabouts. My DD is an '03 Civic with 136k, great little car...fun to drive, 35mpg on the highway, really comfortable too. Can't beat a Honda for that.

Nice, I have a near mint '94 Prelude that only has 65k miles on it. It was a one owner, little old German lady owned car. A co-worker bought it and imported it to Norway, kept it a few years, but he didn't really like it, he wanted to upgrade to a big SUV, so sold it to me dirt cheap. Bling bling wheels in pic are already off the car, steelies now for winter, stockers going back on in Spring. Love it, a great car, fun to drive. Wish I had the last gen like your pic, but still happy with the one I have.

If a trans build ever has to happen, yeah, i plan on changing out at minimum the 5th gear from an accord for those nice highway cruising speeds.

I had a high of 34.45 mpgs on the road trip down here. my other two fillups were 32 and i think 33. and that was with these spark plugs.... This was part of my misfires, in 3 cylinders....

For a v8 yea, you are getting very good mileage. I hope all that motor work is going/gone okay!

So far so good here in memphis. Still dont know anyone except at work. But its been less that 2 months so im proud of my progress so far.

Now there are some fouled up plugs.

The new motor is behaving. I'm about to put in 1qt of oil to keep it full, but otherwise, nothing usual for a break-in process. Mileage is up and down because of the snow and slow moving traffic, but gas is cheap right now, and my new job is affording me the liberty to keep the cars.

Good to know everything is going well down there. Before you know it, things will improve. Good weather and car shows can help that, and it's not that far away.

Hahah you arent kidding. I dont know how i survived as long as i did..

At least the magnum is alive again. Just in time for winter shenanigans. And im glad to hear you got a (hopefully) better job! Are you liking it?

When that time comes, ill definitely have pictures up and posted. But for now its all quiet on the western front. I intend to visit out back in jersey at some point. But not in the near future. It will be a little while until i gather up all my resources again.

I had a set of yokohama winters put on the magnum to be safe, and with the weather as it's been the past few days, I'm very glad I did. Handles very predictably, but has loads and loads of grip. Absolutely no complaints about it.

My new job is very good. It's a big change from my old one, and more of a "grown up" job (full time, benefits, etc), but that's all good things about it. I build rack units for home automation setups and also for distributed home audio. I was hired to develop the fabrication process, man the department, and hopefully I'll be able to see it grow. I get paid very good money to do it, and it's just as technologically immersed as my last job (keeps me interested), just a different end of the spectrum. It's definitely taking some getting used to, I'm going from a 10-6 job to an 8-5 job, and the commute is also an hour instead of 15 minutes. If it keeps working out, I'll certainly move closer to it, and see how things work out. It's definitely a chance for me to get my grip on life and see where it'll take me. Since I'm quite established with the lady, it means we'll probably move in together, and who knows, maybe even settle down. But the job itself is great, the people are great, and it's very comfortable for me. Demanding, but nothing I can't keep up with.

Let me know when the time comes and you want to visit up here, I'll make sure there's a party waiting for you. We're not that different in age, so I know what it's like. You'll be just fine.

"Grown up"... Im beginning to think we never really grow up. We just sort of assume roles that society has outlined for people of our age, and never question it....

If you think about it that way, then doing whatever job your doing, and liking it is all that matters. Im glad to hear its going well for you! I love hearing about success like that because it gives me some hope ill find my own calling, persay, wherein my abilities are adequately used.

Hopefully youll have some luck with that video stuff you wanted to get on board with as well.

Sorry for my tardy response. Work has been very busy, and more recently ive been getting about 40 or more hours a week. Which is awesome! But compared to my previous part time job, its a big time management change. I guess im assuming my role society has set forth and growing up.

Hope all is well. And stay warm. heck, its even been very cold down here with the threat of some snow tomorrow....

I got home to look at the thermometer say -2.6F. Definitely sick of this weather. Wind chill puts it well below -10.

No worries about timing, I know the feeling. Before I started this new job, I had Thursdays off of work, I had some great hours being 10am to 6pm, and I was minutes from home. Now it's a little bit different, but it's just part of it. I originally had "grown up" in quotes because of just that...it's just a societal norm we choose to accept (or not, for some). Having the benefits and whatnot is a big upgrade for me, it allows me to definitely take care of my girlfriend, which is super important to me, in a sense, more important than the content of my job. While I should say this needs to be taken with a large grain of salt, I would shovel shit for the rest of my life if it meant I could ensure my girlfriend was in the best possible care. We'll probably be moving in together pretty soon, and being able to come home to her every day is worth more than money could buy to me. So in that regard, having a job that I really enjoy is just icing on the cake for me. I'm purely lucky to be able to have had all the opportunities and connections I've made over the years, especially for my age.

You'll get there, we all do. Just like some of my much older friends have told me for years, it's great to find your calling when you're young, but it's not the end of the world if you find it later. The important part is finding it, and the journey along the way.

Hey, i think its warmer out now. At least in memphis haha.

"I would shovel shit for the rest of my life if it meant I could ensure my girlfriend was in the best possible care."

Dude. That resonates with me soo much. Honestly, the goal of having a family is my number 1 priority. Whatever i do to support that would be secondary.

Thanks for the insight though. Sometimes i get stuck talking to people who have it all figured out and cant comprehend i dont have the same path lit up in bright lights like them.

Hope all is well with you and your girl. Oppo is much harder to be involved with like i said with my new job. I miss hanging out here all the time haha. I had some time so id figure id reply.

Yeah, timing is tough. I have the same thing with my new job. Good to know everything is thawing out down there! We got a surprise 3 or so inches Friday, but it's mostly gone now, and hopefully stays gone until at least November. The potholes are something else though. Someone at the C&C I went to this morning hit a pothole and tore their sidewall up. Sucks that it's a Sunday, no one is open, and the car is on run flats, so no donut to ride on either.

But otherwise, things on the home front are pretty good. Nothing out of the ordinary. Definitely needs to warm up a little more though, 30F this morning was bitter, now it's a little better, but 50+ would make me feel better.

potholes here are nothing like northern pot holes thank goodness. We were almost at 80 a few days ago..... it was alright...

I hope to do some sort of moto vlogs the more and more i get comfortable riding around memphis. So ill have those up now and then if i get myself back into editing them... The hope would be to give yall a taste of memphis.
